Latin Phrases

Looking for a famous Latin phrase? Latin-Phrases.co.uk has one of the best collections of Latin phrases, sayings and expressions.

On this site, we've grouped Latin phrases into five categories:

  1. Latin Sayings: Known proverb-like sentences carrying a special meaning about the topic
  2. Latin Quotes: Quotations attributed to famous Roman people.
  3. Latin Phrases: Words about the topic, carrying a certain meaning about the topic
  4. Latin Expressions: Common sets of words used in a particular topic to denote a particular meaning, a little more elaborate than terms.
  5. Latin Terms: Words that are part of Latin terminology, ancient or modern.

As you might have noticed, the difference between bordering categories is smudged at best. So, if you you cannot find a suitable phrase in, say 'Latin Quotes', try 'Latin Sayings' or 'Latin Phrases'.

If, having browsed through the site, you still cannot find the Latin phrase you are looking for, check out our Latin Translations page.
